Petrified Forest -- Arizona
Descriptive:
Containing one of the world's largest concentrations of fossilized wood, Petrified Forest National Park is 94,000 acres on the northeastern border of Arizona. The southern portion of the Park has four separate "forests", or concentrations of petrified trees. The northern portion contains the Painted Desert, a terrain devoid of vegetation featuring "badlands" topography.
